Old Reineholmen

HISTORY - A LOT OF FISH!

In the old days, Reineholmen was known among fishermen as an ideal starting point for going out into the rich fishing grounds for which Lofoten is world-famous. The island's strategic location, protected from the wild ocean currents, made it a safe haven for fishermen over the centuries. This protected harbour, in the crystal clear water, bears witness to a time when the sea was the basis for daily life.

Today, Reineholmen stands as a symbol of the balance between conservation and innovation, where traditional industries such as fishing live side by side with sustainable tourism. The island's commitment to the environment is clear, with measures to protect its vulnerable nature while welcoming the world to explore its beauty.
